Personal Statement

In the evening time when my homework is done and I have eaten dinner I like to read a book. And when I am done reading my book I usually take a shower which is hard. The reason why is because being that I barely see I have really bad balance. So my grandmother helps me to make sure I don’t slip. After that I’ll lay in my bed and think what it would be like to be normal.

Afternoon

As the day continues I go to school like any other kid my age does except I stat in the same class all day. Teacher says it would be too dangerous to try and switch classes with all that traffic created by students. Plus teachers would have to pay more attention to my deafness and not to the other students. So I stay in one class where the teacher teaches me using brail. I really don’t mind it though cause I get more attention and don’t have to worry about kid making fun of me. Plus sometimes my teacher even brings in a snack for me.

Morning

Good morning, my name is Joe Smuckatelly and this is my morning with the Usher Syndrome. Being that I have Type I of the III types in this disorder after waking up I try to maneuver my way down to the kitchen using railing that was put in for me. When I get to the kitchen my grandmother helps me over to the table where she has cooked eggs and bacon. Now at first it was hard to trying to put food in my mouth while partly blind and my deafness didn’t help because I couldn’t here my grandmother give me directions where to put the food, but I quickly learned.
